April Micki Message
It will not come as a surprise to those of you who know me that the bumper sticker that says, "'Anonymous' was a woman" makes me smile. Accordingly, since I don't know the source of this prayer that a friend sent to me, I will attribute it to 'anonymous.'
I was made weak that I might learn humbly to obey.
I asked for help that I might do greater things;
I was given infirmity that I might do better things.
I asked for riches that I might be happy;
I was given poverty that I might be wise.
I asked for power that I might have the praise of others;
I was given weakness that I might feel the need for you.
I asked for all things that I might enjoy life;
I was given life that I might enjoy all things.
No, dear Lord, I've gotten nothing that I've asked for,
but everything I had hoped for.
Despite myself, my prayers were answered,
and I am among those most richly blessed.
